imPRESSive Earrings with Lynette Andreasen
This workshop is being held live and in-person
at our Texas studio!
Can't make the trip?
Live online seats will be available here soon!
We're excited to be welcoming Lynette Andreasen to the studio for the first time! This fun, fast-paced introduction to working with a hydraulic press will cover how to make many different styles of earrings using pancake dies, silhouette dies, embossing dies, impression dies, and complex forming dies (synclastic and anticlastic). We'll learn how to take simple forms such as pancake die cutouts or silhouette-formed shapes and elevate them to more complex forms through scoring and bending, hollow constructed forms, and combining multiples. We'll also learn how to fabricate several different earring mechanisms from traditional ear wires to hinged hoops. Rounding things out, Lynette will share her favorite approaches to texturing, complex soldering, hollow construction, finishing methods and patinas.
This is an advanced beginning to intermediate class, and students should have solid foundational fabrication skills including soldering, sawing, filing, and finishing. Absolutely everything necessary to complete the project is provided in this workshop – all tools, materials, and equipment! Bring a pen and notebook for note-taking and eye magnification if required, but otherwise just come and have fun!
