at our Texas studio!
If you are just starting out as a beginner working in a home studio, this workshop is for you! Join resident metalsmith Francesca Watson for a fun, two-days all about fabricating and sizing rings. We'll start out with simple stackers, build on that skill with a fun fidget ring, and finish up with a simple prong-set band (picture coming soon). You'll learn about making sure your finished rings will fit (yes, there's a little math involved!), and explore the capabilities of the flex-shaft, including drilling and using burs. Along the way, we'll discuss the properties of sterling silver; why flux is important and which ones work best for silver; how to get a professional finish on your piece; and much more. And as an added bonus, you'll get 30 days access to recordings of all demos ... at no additional cost!
This workshop is part of this summer's beginner series and offers essential foundational skills, whether you've never touched a torch or you’re taking your soldering and fabrication skills to the next level. Absolutely everything necessary to complete the projects is provided in this workshop – all tools, materials, and equipment! Bring a pen and notebook for note-taking and eye magnification if required, but otherwise just come and have fun!

(payable on the first day of class)
Note: We recommend bringing your own eye magnification to help you see as clearly as possible while working. Because these needs are so personal, it's impossible for us to have the right thing on hand for every student. Need help with this? Call the studio or send us an email!
