Add a touch of shimmer to earthy blue turquoise with this fun necklace project! It’s a new twist on the popular stone-on-stone technique, resulting in an elegant CZ embellishment framed in silver and embedded in a gorgeous turquoise cabochon. We’ll build a simple textured frame for our dressed-up stone, making sure to review best practices for sizing and fabricating bezels, then add chain that mimics its oblong shape. We’ll top it all off with a handmade clasp before setting the stone using simple tools and an uncomplicated technique that will demystify setting corners once and for all.
As usual, we’re providing everything you need to complete the project so just come have fun! Please note: this is an intermediate workshop, so students should be able to successfully solder unattended and be proficient in the use of a jeweler’s saw.
Bring a pen and notebook for note-taking and eye magnification if required, but otherwise just come and have fun!
