One side is cool, smooth stone, the other a rustic slice of textured metal in an open box. Related shapes echo one another across brushed silver and tiny hollows, joined and separated, together but distinct.
This intermediate pendant project makes use of essential fabrication techniques including soldering, sawing, filing, box construction, bezel creation, and stone setting. Detailed in-person demos are followed by plenty of hands-on work time to successfully complete your piece in the instructor’s fully equipped traveling metalsmithing studio.
This is an intermediate workshop! Students should be able to solder unattended and have experience using a jeweler’s saw. Absolutely everything necessary to complete the project is provided in this workshop – all tools, materials, and equipment! In addition, you’ll receive online access to Francesca’s Essentials for the Kitchen Table Jeweler on the innovative Makery University platform. Bring a pen and notebook for note-taking and eye magnification if required, but otherwise just come and have fun!
Workshop fee: $125
