Jeff Fulkerson is coming back to The Makery for a fun next-steps project that will stretch our metalsmithing skill set! Join us for a weekend of intermediate fabrication skills as we build shadow boxes and a hollow form box. We’ll add not one but two free-form cabochons to the box and add texture and dimension to our shadow box forms using several innovative techniques. We’ll also make one reeeeeally long hinge and combine all the elements to create a whimsical kinetic pendant that can be worn four different ways. And because of how all the pieces come together, there’s plenty of design freedom to make these pendants uniquely our own.
In just two days, we’ll reinforce essential fabrication techniques, and learn some new tips for working with texture and dimensional forms. All materials, all tools, and all equipment are provided as part of this all-inclusive workshop so all you have to do is show up ready to work and have a good time! Want to join us? Here are the details:
Prerequisite skills: must be able to solder unattended and have basic proficiency with a jeweler’s saw.
